Ravenna Youth Council's Inaugural “Meet the Ravenna Candidates Night,” Oct. 29
The Ravenna Youth Council will present its first “Meet the Ravenna Candidates” event from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29, at Reed Memorial Library.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is designed to provide Ravenna residents with a chance to hear city council, trustee and school board candidates first hand and learn where they stand on the issues.
During the formal program, candidates will have an opportunity to introduce themselves and briefly present their basic campaign platform. Candidates then will have a chance to respond to questions RYC members have chosen from the audience and those submitted by residents before the event. Each candidate opening statement and responses to questions will be subject to a time limit.
Following the event, time has been allotted to provide residents with a chance to personally meet each candidate and enjoy light refreshments.
Candidates invited to participate include those vying for two at-large seats and two ward seats on the Ravenna City Council, as well as candidates for the Ravenna School District Board of Education and Ravenna Township Trustee.
Residents who wish to submit a question prior to event can send it to ravennayouthcouncil (at) gmail.com.
A video of the event will be posted by Nov. 1 at www.ravennayouthcouncil.com.
